Nagpur June 5^th: Students Islamic Organization of India (Maharashtra North Zone) is observing Environment Day today. On this eve it is organizing awareness campaigns throughout the state. Demonstrations, Corner meetings, Street plays, Seminars, tree plantations and other relevant activities are being held, message of Environment Day and its importance is being highlighted.

SIO Nagpur organized a demonstration at the heart of the Nagpur city, the variety square. All the students from various communities participated wholeheartedly. The message given by the Zonal President SIO (Maharashtra North Zone)”when martyrs of the nation can serve their blood to the earth then can’t we just give the water to plant a tree?”. Suhail Ameer Sheikh and Zeeshan Omar Nagpur East President addressed the media persons.

SIO oppose the Jaitapur (Ratnagiri Dist.) plant Project. The world is witnessed to nuclear destruction, the catastrophic condition of the Hiroshima and Nagasaki (by America), The destruction done by the fukoshima nuclear plant in Japan, then why we are interested in taking such a disastrous decision?

By uniting the political powers, social workers and human right activists we want to stop the establishment of the nuclear plant.

1.5 million Children die every year from contaminated drinking water and the number is still rising! We are losing 60 acres of forest land every minute. The deforestation done by the multinational companies, factories and firms cause the air pollution and results into the global warming. The excess emission of the green house gasses may result into the ozone layer depletion. The holes in ozone layer allow the ultra violet rays to come into atmosphere which causes to skin cancer and various diseases.
